How can i get rid of tree frogs and keep them out of my pool?
Question:i have little croaking frogs in the back yard at the pool is there any way to get rid of them? they are very noisy after it rains and at night is there a repelent or something i can use?
Answers:
They usually only jump in pools during mating season, which is over mid June. If you have herons or raccoons in the neighborhood they usually clean out all tree frogs in a few moments. Don't worry the tadpoles won't survive, in fact under the law you aren't allowed to keep the tadpoles, so you have to kill them. This is actually to protect the tree frog population so they mate where they will survive, which is temporary ponds that dry up. Tree frogs tadpoles born in a permanent swamp get eaten by fish and other fauna. The dry environment protects them during a critical part of their life cycle.
However since this hasn't happened there is a cheap tree frog repellent in your pool supplies or laundry room. Chlorine bleach or any other thing that will make the Ph of your pool strongly acidic for a little while to kill them and very mildly acidic Ph levels keep them away -- they need a ph neutral to slightly alkaline environment to survive.
