How much do you as a couple spend on groceries a week??

Question:Just wondering.Couples, how much do you spend on food, toiletries and household things like washing powder a week or fortnight??

Answers:
About $40.00-$50.00 a week and we have 2 children (3&4). A family of 4!

about a hundred quid.
$100-- I know... it is a lot for just the two of us. We are just starting to incorporate more organic foods in our cooking so it is making it go up. When my husband was in school we only spent $50.
About $40.
Every week we spend between 180-200. We go kinda crazy at the store lol!
for every thing we need we spend about $75-$125 @ week.
about 150 a week but thats me my partner and 2 kids?
It really depends on what you eat, where you shop, etc. I would say we spend between $75-100 a week on food, and household items.
We spend about $100 a week (2 adults, one teen). I also use the Coupon Mom system.

That saves me a ton of money each week! If you have the storage space, a membership at Sam's or Costco or BJ's is well worth the money for things like toilet tissue, paper towels, detergent, shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and the like. Not only do you not have to worry about running out, but it is cheaper to buy in bulk.

We watch the sales and STOCK UP when prices are low. Some of the things that we watch for are pasta, pasta sauce, canned veggies, cake/brownie mix, and cereal.

Keep "emergency" goods on hand. Powdered milk, powdered eggs, and frozen bread are always on hand. This way, when the real stuff runs out unexpectedly we don't have to run to the convenience store and pay a high price. Then we can get by until grocery day.

Our amount is sort of high because I also like to shop at Whole Foods, Fresh Market, and Wild Oats; and we buy a lot of natural / organic / and dairy - free (I'm lactose intolerant) items. We splurge a bit on the important things like meats, veggies, and dairy (hormone-free milk for them, soy or rice milk for me!).

I hope some of these tips come in handy for you and your family!
Before we had kids, my Wife and I used to spend about sixty quid a week on groceries, after having our daughter that went up to about a hundred to a hundred and twenty.
Yesterday my wife gave birth to twins, I'm off to get a loan!
For our family of four, me, my husband, and two small children we spend about $600 per month. That includes food, toiletries, diapers, cleaning products... It is high, but I could speand even more than that.
That's kinda hard. I never went shopping for stuff only to last a week. I always shop to last at least a month. I spend just under $300. But that's just two people. You'd spend more than that if you had children. So I'd say about $50-60 a week would be reasonable.
I probably spend about fifty pounds a week
varies from £80-120 a week
it really depends on how flush or skint we are but generally speaking it would be around £110 per fortnight. Having said that, if my boyfriend comes shopping with me that can go up to £150 so needless to say, he stays at home!
I used to go shopping on a weekley basis and could easily spend £40 - £70 per week. I tend to just do one big shop a month and spend closer to £100 and buy the vegetables and fruit or fresh food items seperately in a smaller shop to reduce my spending, it is so easy to overspend if you are going to a big supermarket on a weekley basis.
being on a low income i am lucky if it is £15 and never over £20
We used to spend around 100-120 pounds a week. We would go to Tesco on Saturday morning and do a weekly bulk shop that was generally around the 75 quid mark but then inevitably I would end up in Asda next door to my office during the week buying extra stuff we'd either forgotten or just fancied!

Don't spend quite so much now because we moved to North Cyprus!
