Just when do you know when to pick the tomatoes off the bush?

Question:I have two that are orange red almost all over but a bit of green still there, when do I pick them?
Thanks, I am thrilled to have fresh veggies for the summer out of my garden.

Answers:
Pick the tomatoes when they are bright red all over the fruit. If you pick them too early, the taste s not fully developed.

Store them in a large bowl on the counter. Don't refrigerate the tomatoes as it affects the taste.

My favorite way to eat them is cut the tomatoes in wedges and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

Its best, this early in the season to let them fully ripen on the vine--they taste much better-when nice and red its time to pick and eat
well you could pick them now and put them in a window

but probably tomarrow or the next day they will be best... you will be able to tell by the look and the way they feel.

I want some too. think of me when you eat them ok? (this is the first year I havent had a garden)
You can pick your tomatoes now. Just leave them on your window sill for a day or so to redden up.See if they feel soft-but not too soft. Yes! It's wonderful to grow your own veggies. Our tomato season in New Zealand was bad this year. Too much wind and rain during thre growing season. But I'm going to try a new variety this Spring called Siberian tomatoes. They reckon these grow in all climates. Good Luck!
