Should I repot my cactus? If so, how?

Question:I've had Spike for about 10 years now. He's only about 2 inches high, with nice pink flowers on. He's in a little pot about 2 inches high and 1.5 inches in diameter. He's got little spines that stick into you like a hook.
Should I repot him or will he be OK in the same pot?
If I have to repot him how do I do it without getting spiked and killing Spike? Is there a knack?

Answers:
Wrap a long thick strip of newspaper around the cactus, and hold the paper strip on the part which is not around the plant. Pull the plant gently out after tipping the pot to one side and removing (with a teaspoon) some of the soil.

In the new pot, leave a hole in the soil, and gently lower the plant in, via holding the newspaper strip, then use a teaspoon to place more soil around the plant.

Yes, I'd repot "Spike". get some heavy leather gloves, and then hold it in the palm of one hand upside-down. tap the pot with a butter knife to loosen it and lift it off. Re-plant in a new pot about 4" in diameter. Make sure that you re-plant it at the same depth as it was in the old pot. (meaning, don't bury it.)
Water well, and it should be fine.

You have been repotted!

JOKE!!
only report it if he has done something wrong.poor thing
You need to repot your cactus to a bigger pot so that it can grow and give you more flowers. Wear oven mitts and use a few layers of newspaper over the plant to handle the cactus out of the tiny pot and into a 4" pot. Follow directions on the care tag that came with the cactus.
Use gloves!
