Anyone have any easy techniques to keep the heat out of a bedroom and prevent it from burning up?

Question:My room faces the sunrise in the morning and it is a nightmare trying to sleep in there. Since the weather is already at 100 degrees during the summer at 7am, I feel like I'm burning up. Adjusting the air to 60 degrees does nothing for me anymore. I have two windows and I'm sure I can prevent some of it from there, please help!!

Answers:
Put a comforter in front of your curtains. This will really help keep out heat and keep your room darker.

Take a piece of cardboard the same size as your window, that can be placed in the window.

To it, attach aluminum foil, shiny side out, making a rough mirror.

Place this in the window at night. In the morning it will not only act as a pretty good blind, it will reflect most of the light and heat hitting your window in the morning.
I used wooden shutters in Austin. If you can't afford them you could get insulated curtains, blinds and a ceiling fan.
