My cheese plant is taking over my house!!?

Question:Is there anyway to halt the growth of a cheese plant, or cut it back. We have had the plant for 2 years and it has tripled in height. It now touches the ceiling and I'd like to cut it back but I have been told that it you cut them they "bleed to death" and the sap doesn't stop flowing until they die. Is this true? I have kept the plant in the small pot it originally came in and havent fed or changed the soil. It gets watered once a week but still sprouts new leaves at least once a fortnight. HELP!! It's taking over!

Answers:
I think you'll find it not actually a cheese plant but a triffid in disguise

Also it's not called Monstera Deliciosa for nothing

Hi, I just found this for you, hope it helps.

yes you can give it a really good cut back but give it a feed after so it helps the plant recover from the stress of being cut
