Could somebody please help me with my PALM TREE??
Question:I have 2 PALM TREES in front of my house that were planted at the same time. One is taller than my house and quite healthy looking. But, the other is about 1/3 of the size of the healthy tree and has very few branches on it. The few fronds that are on the sickly tree are really smashed looking and brown. Even the new ones that slowly grow all are really smashed looking. Almost like someone took all the fronds and smashed them into little balls. I water it and water it but it only produces smashed brown fronds. HELP!! what am i doing wrong??
Answers:
you're not doing anything wrong it's just nature... I suspect that your palm with brown fronds is dying of some kind of fungus..it is usually the number one problem with palm and I bet it's a Queen Palm. I've had a few and some grow tall and pretty and others don't. Any nicks on their trunk is enough for them to get fungus. got that tip from a landscape pro to put Milorganite fertilizer in fall and spring. It is a slow release and won't burn the plants, bushes and grass.
You may need to fertilize - this as an interesting article.
