What's so great about southern exposure?

Question:When someone buys a house or talks about buying a house, they say that having a room with windows facing the south is good... what's so good about it?

Answers:
In North America, the south side of buildings and structures receive more daylight exposure throughout the year than the three other sides. When it comes to windows, it allows more natural light and helps heat the room during winter months, while avoiding the harsher light of summer, thus helping to keep the room cooler.
