Frog Ponds?
Question:I was talking to my mom about a fish pond in the back yard, and i looked in the book i had and saw frogs. That made me think of having a frog pond. I was thinking of putting one in over the summer to give me something to do. It would e fun becuase i love to explore.lol. I would want a medium maybe 1 feet deep, and have not so much plants, but be able to get flys and such to feed them. I live kinda by a common ground which is a tiny forest like place and it have a small pond where i can find frogs and lizards. How do i get frogs to come to the pond? How much will it cost? and do u have ideas for plants and stuff? How long will it take?(my whole back yard is emty nothing but grass)

Put in the fish pond. Put in some plants, and buy some polliwogs from the pet store or a pond dealer. You don't need to worry about feeding them. They will find plenty of insects if you use plants. I have 2 water gardens and 9 bullfrogs.
The 2 ponds, with all the landscaping, pumps, water plants and fish cost me $350.00. It took me 2 1/2 days to accomplish, and give me HOURS of enjoyment and relaxation. Very little upkeep and maintenance. I am in NW OH and they winter over very well.
By the way, I'm 60 years old, and did it all by myself 5 years ago.
Go to the garden center. They have all you need. Find out what and how to do it, then go to HD or Lowe's. NEVER try to ask questions either place. I have found they know very little, or nothing at all about water gardens.
