I have never seen anything like it, but have heard of similar looking machines...it appears to be one of those all in one table saw, lathe, etc.

Of course it's a Shopsmith looks like a Mark V it can be used a a lathe for turning table legs, lamps etc. Also a table saw, horizontal boring machine, vertical drill press with tilting table and disc sander. Those are the basic functions. You can also buy accessories that include a jig saw, jointer, router, molding head, planer, band saw and a belt sander. The machine is no longer manufactured but parts can be ordered on-line. just do a search for shopsmith Mark V. hope this helps.
