I just bought a lemon tree from Green Thumb, how do i keep it healthy ad get the lemons to grow?
Question:the leaves have also become a very light green
Answers:
You don't say what sort of lemon? Also is it in the ground, or in a tub(pot)? Lemon trees have a wide root spread with shallow roots. If you have put it in the ground, make sure you don't put the roots too far down in the ground.Next thing. Give it a good water. Only water(unless very warm) every week.Your problem with the leaves sounds as if you need to use fertiliser. Citrus trees are very heavy feeders, and need heaps of compost, and citrus fertiliser. If you do all these things correctly, your lemon tree will take about 3 years before you get lemons.Get yourself a book on Citrus growing.
It sounds like your tree may be chlorotic. Depending on the cause, iron can help. Check out this website.

Green Thumb is a great nursery, though. If you take one of the leaves to them, they will often be able to diagnose the problem and point you in the right direction.
You may need a good citrus fertilizer.
