What do you think of the guy who bought the cave?
Question:He says he won`t do it up and make it liveable.This is so unfair, as I was left a house which I must make habitable. I`m no longer permitted to own it empty.

If he does not do up the cave and make it habitable, I doubt if it will lower property prices of other caves!
On the other hand if you let your house deteriorate it could have a detrimental effect on the neighbours.
I doubt if there is any law that could force you have the house occupied but you can only claim Council Tax relief for a limited period.
P.S. Count yourself lucky to have been left a house at all. There are a lot of homeless people. You could always raffle it and give the proceeds to a charity for the homeless.
