How do I stop flies coming to my garden?

Question:Every time I go out in my garden in the summer, I am constantly bitten by flies. Does any one know how to get rid of them? Is it to do with my conifers?

Answers:
I would try planting some Lemon Grass. This is a natural repellant for mosquitos and flies.

try a citronella candle
Get a toad or a frog, they love them and they are natural slug-killers! :-)
If you compost, there might be something in there that is attracting them. Something smells good to them anyway. Find the source of the smell.
