Work from the back of the house to the front, cleaning from the top to the bottom. Start in the back room, dusting from high to low. Carry a trash bag around with you. Sweep stuff from vinyl and tile floors onto the carpet. Vacuum last.

It really depends on how big your house is.
I have 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, den, kitchen, dining room, & a basement.
