I have an Easy Set Pool and its leaking....?
Question:Anyone have any suggestions on how to find the hole in the bottom of the pool? I have a patch kit that does not require you to drain it first, but i dont know where the hole is, all i know is it soaking my yard.
Answers:
If the hole to the pool is sitting in a pool of water beneith it, it will leak without showing bubbles. If possible, dig a small hole so the water has somewhere to drain. If you can get the water out quickly and introduce air to the underside of the hole, you should see the bubbles from the inside. If that doesn't work, try compressed air (from a compressor). Get a small 1/8" or 1/4" piece of PVC equal to the radius of the pool. Cap one end with a cap and pvc glue. Tape the edge of the cap to eliminate any shape edges. Drill a series of holes about 3" apart, in a straight line, the length of the pvc (sand the holes smooth to eliminate any sharp edges). Carefully slide capped end under pool and introduce compressed air to the open end. This will force air between the standing water and the bottom of the pool, hopefully showing you the leak from the top of the pool. If no leak is found, try again in another location. If the leak is on the botton, you should be able to find it.
It stinks to have to drain them, so be carefull when pushing the pvc in and out so you don't cause another hole. You may also have to wash any mud out of the pvc holes before starting again.
