Does anyone know how to get the sticky residue of tape off a glass jar?

Question:

Answers:
I've encountered this problem several times. And there's several ways to go at it. I always try to use things I already have in the house.

Warm soapy water. Doesn't always work, but a good first option.

WD-40. Almost always does the trick, but not a product I always have on hand.

Rubbing alcohol. Results vary depending on the glue.

Cooking oil or spray.

Mayo. It has oil in it. Also works well for sticky products in hair.

Peanut butter. Same as mayo.

Elbow Grease. Get a knife and just scrape it off. Usually takes a while and can get very frustrating.

Good luck!! Hope one of these works for you.

nail polish remover or acetone
I would try nail polish remover.
"Goo-gone" is magic, available almost everywhere.
eucalyptus oil.
Use the detergent you use to clean windows.
glass-cleaner

you can buff the jar with a piece of cloth dipped in a little oil.
Lighter fluid and a razor blade if you need it. But throw some lighter fluid on and it should just rub off with your finger.

Eucalyptus oil
Wash the glass jar in warm soapy water. It's easy, it's quick, and best of all, it's cheap!
wd-40
i've tried a dab of cooking oil and lots of scraping.
