Answers:
WATER LILIES! They come in a bunch of colors other than pink. If you have fish in the pond they wont eat the roots and they help put oxygen in the water.

Flag irises in the margines look wonderful the foliag is nice and the flowers if only for a few weeks are glorious.
water lillis and irises
if you go to your local pond or aquatic centre they will be more than helpful but you could try thngs like lillies or water iris water hyacinth water hawthorn to name but a few and these do come in varying colours good luck and maybe next year youll have lots of colour on your pool
You don't say how big your pond is. Some aquatic plants are very invasive - I've just planted some purple loostrife, for example, in a Marina; it will look very colourful and fabulous there next year.
Water lilies can take over too, leaving little room for any tish to swim around their stems. There are pygmy varieties which are lovely, but inclined to be more expensive.
The purple iris doesn't fill the pond as quickly as the yellow ones. Red lobelia are very striking and tall plants so they will give you a contrast in height, and a variegated grass around the pond margin gives green and white stripes with lovely plumes at flowering time - more colour contrast and height.
Plant primroses around the pond for Spring colour - they like a lot of water and are happy in slightly shady areas.
