Need help identifying plant. Are there any peppers that are poisonous?

Question:I have a small bush like plant that has purple bell peppers and I don't know exactly what kind of peppers they are or if they are safe to eat. The leaves are a dark green with purple specks and the peppers are kind of cone shaped. I haven't heard of any peppers that are poisonous but I'd like to konw for sure before trying one.
