What is the plant Yaro? and can it get you high?

Question:Not that I want to, but at my summer camp last year a councilor said that if you chew the purple root (which only appears sometimes) on the plant Yaro you can get high... is this true?

Answers:
No, you cannot get high on yarrow root. It might help you if you are experiencing internal bleeding or it may lessen your menstrual flow if you are a girl. But it is not a drug. Yarrow is an herb that was used to stop bleeding or as a mild anesthetic.
