Hi Andrea
What you need to do is to have an allotment party!
Many years ago we moved into a house with a big garden which was totally overgrown and we had a gardening party!
Invited all our friends - told them why, to wear old clothes and wellies. As each couple turned up they chose a gardening tool (some had brought their own) and chose where they wanted to work and what they preferred to do.
We laid on food and beer, etc. Everyone had a great time and in one afternoon the whole place had been transformed, including having turf laid.
Do you have good friends like ours who would enjoy a day in the fresh air helping you to get straight?

Best of luck to you...My Father in law had an allotment for over 50 years...the vegetables and fruit he grew are still the best I have ever tasted.yes Rome wasn't built in a day, but the harder the work the greater the reward..allotments are very friendly places, so ask your gardening neighbours, rest assured you will get all the help you need.
Best thing an allotment. I had trouble with my local council because they took mine away without asking me and wouldn't listen. In the end I went to the Police but they just told me I had lost the plot.
Try chicken manure if you can get it. Can you dig trenches to drain the water?
if it needs that sort of work then no

nothing will grow if it is waterlogged

if it needs top soil, then it is not an allotment

look for somewhere better
