Tips for growing aloe vera plants and cactus plants?
Question:So I got some baby ones, how to grow them big and strong? LOL, how much water? when where?? can aloe vera be left outside in the heat like cactus plants can?
Answers:
Aloe vera needs moderate to bright lighting and low watering. Basically whenever the soil becomes dry, about 2-3 weeks. It thrives in bright light, like a cactus, so keeps it within 5 feet of an east or west facing window. If it gets too big for the pot, change it. They are a poisonous plant though, so keep them away from kids and pets.
Never bring a cactus home and place it in the sun. If you want it in the sun, place it in a fairly shaded area on the patio and let it get accustomed to the sun. Since you cactus is in a pot, I assume, you need to water in more often. If it's inside, watering can be as little as once a month. If it's outside, try every 2-3 days.
Hope I helped you.
Well, they like to be stubborn and picky and would do well with a similar owner and they don't like a lot of water. But when they want their water you should give them some.
bright light, little water. if they've been inside all winter (depending on where you live) gradually introduce them to full sun in the spring/summer. they like to be neglected.
just put the aloe in the ground and water them like a regular plant. They can also get the same amount of fertilize. The cactus can get fertilize 1/4 the regular amount about once a month. Water them once a week or until they are very dry
