What is the best way to hang our bicycles to our garage walls? The walls are sort of plastic rubberized slats.

Go to Lowes. Go to the storage aisle - where all the plastic Rubbermaid containers are. Buy 2 of the $5 bike hangers. Attach them to your wall studs. Done.
