Drying flowers?

Question:What are some techniques besides just hanging them upside down?

Answers:
the microwave actually works really well. If you can put it on half power and put the blossoms face DOWN. Microwave batches for a minute at a time and keep checking them. It'll work better if you have a micro that turns too. You can also buy silica sand from a craft store, but that will take weeks and the microwave works pretty well for quite a few flowers. Certain ones just wont' dry nicely...orchids, gardenias, iris, tulips, etc. anything too delicate or with only a few petals. Good ones to dry are roses, statice, carnations, larkspur, delphinium, veronica, salvia...just to start :)

After hanging the flowers upside down you can spray with a hair spray and the flower wont get louse.
I've had best luck just hanging upside down. Tried putting them in a food dehydrator once, and they all fell apart. Herbs, you can dry in a dehydrator - but again, hanging them in the house fills your whole room with the sweet aroma.
if you support gay rights then ask one of them--never met a male florists who isn't gay
