The Ortho is good, you could also try Spectracide, I know for a fact that is it effective. Both however, can be sprayed around kids and pets as it is no longer a threat to anyone other than bugs after it dries. You do have to steer clear of it while it is wet. Make sure you spray around the windows inside and out, around all the baseboards, in your cabinets ( but make sure you do not soak your pots and pans) and behind your refrigerator and trash cans...pretty much everywhere around where food is. You will see results in a couple days.
Ortho makes a spray called "Home Defense" you can get it at Home Depot, Walmart, Targer, it's in a gallon jug with a pump. I spray it about once a month, along all the corners, walls, doorways, and especially in bathroom corners and crevices. The spray has no smell, and does not stain. If I see a spider or centipede (yuck) it's already curled up and dead.
If what you have are (what people call) "water bugs" and not "regular" roaches, pour a gallon of chlorine bleach down every drain in the house...especially the floor drain in the basement. If it's possible, have someone man every drain and pour the bleach down the drains all at once.
Goodbye disgusting buggies.
