I have 2 corderlines and they are leaning quite a lot because of the the winds?
Question:Is there any way of restraightening them without damage.1 is badly leaning and the other is slightly leaning .I love these plants so much and any help would be much appreciated.
Answers:
Take off the bottom leaves, put some stakes in the ground and tie them into place using rubber ties (or tights) maybe pack a little extra earth around the base afterwards.
You could try re-planting them at an angle to bring them straight - just don't bury any of the top part of the plant, only the root ball shifted to a different angle.
Although, if these are not recent plants and are in the ground rather than pots it is possible the root ball may be quite large so make sure you dig a reasonable space around it so as not to damage it.
if the plant is what i think it is and has big long leaves like flags plant.
you want to get a pole about the size of and length of a broom handle, depends how big you plant is really.
push the plant gently upright and then push the pole down about 1.5 ft into the soil next to the plant. get a cable tie or string and tie the plant to the pole.the plant should rest against the pole now in an upright position.
make sure you don't pull the cable tie or tie the string to tightly, leave a bit of a gap between the string or cable tie for the plant to carry on growing.
once it has assablished itself and grown stronger it should be ok on it's own.
