Question on rubber tree plant?

Question:I was just wondering the leafs are falling off on it pretty fast and the plant is not over watered or under watered what could be the problem? Thanks this is one of my fav plants too!

Answers:
Check a few things. When was the last time you fertilized it? I grow several, both inside and outside, somehow I forgot to fertilize the inside potted one and the leaves started falling. The ones outside were subjected to frost this year and sustained some damage in the low lying areas causing the leaves to drop. Also, the inside one was root bound and needed a larger home so I repotted it, now it is on a growth spurt. I'm in zone 9 where they grow like weeds, too.

Maybe the soil has an excess of salt or fertilizer.
