What is the best way to keep puppies from chewing on patio furniture...can't always watch him outside?

Question:

I used a non-toxic product called Repell to keep my Peskie Eskie from teething on almost all of my furniture inside and outside. I also used it to create barriers where I didn't want her to go and furniture I didn't want her invading. I got it at the pet store, but now see it a discounters. A huge 16 ounce bottle costs about $2.99 and I still have a lot left. I really does work to help train puppies.

Everyone is gonna tell you to get green apple spray, or something like that, and they're right, man, they're right.
give him toys. uts a puppies nature to chew on everything.
puppies need to chew on things. you should by him some pig ears or some rawhide bone to chew on instead, he just needs to chew on something for his new teeth;
you can buy sprays... but a friend of mine smeared something hot on the bits chewed like tobasco sauce.it stopped the pup from doing it again
buy some bitter orange and spray it on the patio furniture. Most vet clinics sell it or a feed store
Bitter Apple is sold at pet shops. Hot sauce and lemon juice is very good as well. Then provide pig ears to chew. They are safer than rawhide and can be eaten.
Eskie Lover, I'm glad you mentioned that product. I've tried bitter apple and it hasn't worked for me. My Eskie likes to chew on the spindles of the deck.
Because of their small size, puppies generally go after the legs of patio furniture. Get some PVC pipe sized so that it will slip over the legs, cut it to the proper length and slip the legs into it. Granted - this isn't most attractive thing, but is a cheap way to solve the problems (and they won't be teething forever, lol).
