I want to put an awning over my deck. I have a chimney that comes out about 24" is there a way to do this?

Question:

Answers:
I am assuming that the chimney runs up the outside wall and extends above where you are starting the awning. you can still attach the awning to the wall, you will have to custom cut and fit the awning around the chimney. There are specific anchors for brick and cement. (lead anchors, require a masonry bit for your drill). A little extra work, but the awning should not be effected by the heat of the chimney, as most goes up out the top. Wish I could draw you a picture. sorry.

If you are talking permanent, it can be done. if you are talking one that rolls in and out (RV awning), much harder. For the first you need to trim the chimney with wood so you can cut the awning to form around the bulge. In the second scenario, you need to build a short roof out even with the chimney and attach the awning to that.
Yes First of all you can either have it built with wood and make it either with a flat roof or use an arbor which you can have vines to add color and it will turn out raather nice.Or just have the old canvas style but that way you will have to build the trackaround the chimmey and then there will always be part of the canvas sticking out to your roof. Me I would go with frameing one.
