How do you stop ordor from standing water?

Question:

Answers:
depends on size, use common sense but vegetable oil will seal in smell

I guess you meant to say "odor" and not "ordor". It's not the water itself that smells, it's whats going on in the water. You have rotting vegetation, scum, etc. none of which has a particularly good smell. You might want to add on to your question and describe the situation a little better. Is this a ditch which fills with rainwater? A small pond? A leaking septic system (now THAT would explain the odor). Clarify your question and I may be able to assist you better.
