What is good to feed squirrels in your backyard other then feeding them birdseed?
Question:
Answers:
I feed them Ritz crackers with a light coating of peanut butter (they prefer the crunchy variety). Not only do they seem to love it, but it's also kinda cute to watch the squirrel try to figure out why their mouth is getting stuck together!
Don't feed them birdseed.go to a store like Wal-Mart and buy field corn and tac it to a tree or something for them to eat. you can always throw out old bread or things like that too.
Peanuts in the shell (not salted). We used to put them out for blue jays, but the squirrels used to scarf them all the time.
Corn or sunflower seeds-the sunflower seeds are probably the cheapest thing you could feed them and they love them! You can also buy some squirrel feed, I found some at Walmart, but I'm sure they sell it at any other place you would buy seeds.
Any leftovers in your pantry, stale chips, cereal, veggies, old bread. They eat everything I put out there.
Get a plastic jar of crunchy peanut butter. Unscrew the top and screw it to a tree. screw the jar back onto the top. Poke a small hole in the bottom of the jar. The squirrels will do the rest. It's very entertaining to watch. we watch for hours. We keep a stock of the cheap store brand peanut butter just for this.
I assume you want to lure the squirrels in so you can shoot them for your breakfast. In this case, use the cheapest bait possible. I suggest peanuts, sunflower seeds, or perhaps pumpkin seeds. Happy Hunting!

Nut w/shells still on! Fun to watch! Or find acorns.
Corn on cob. Can buy lil holders even that attach to tree/post or even hang.
They feed themselves. If they get into your attic and chew on your wiring, your house could catch fire.I never feed wild animals that get too close to my house...
