Do slug pellets poison our song birds?

Question:

Answers:
The birds do NOT eat the pellets, but they eat the snails that have become contaminated by the contents of the pellets, mainly metaldehyde. This does not actually kill the bird but makes them barren. The demise of the song thrush in particular, and to a lesser degree, the blackbird, has been blamed on this chemical. The water-on repellent should be used, it is harmless to our birds, and those horrible blue pellets should be banned outright.

They sure as hell don't do them any good.
Better to use a biological control for slugs - one that you mix with water and water on.
I would imagine so, yes. There's poisonous, that's how they kill slugs.
My backyard in So Ca was overrun with slugs and snails. I found a miracle cure. Box turtles. I got 2 from a rescue place and the snails disappeared quickly!
