What is the best way to remove a bee hive?

Question:The hive is cone-shaped and tan. It is attached to my house under one of the eaves. Can I attempt this myself or is that asking for major trouble? And should I get professional help. For the bees, that is. : )

Answers:
You should get a professional since you dunno what types of bees they are they could be the killer bees. Don't attempt to do it yourself as it is dangerous.

Cover youself in honey and hit it with a bat.
I don't know where you live or what kind of bees you have, however you may want to call a professional.. The reason is because there is a huge bee shortage in USA and lots of bee keepers are asking us not to kill them. They may come out and help you get rid of them. Also you may really have a mess on your hands, head, arms and anywhere else they sting you if you mess with it! good luck!
Check your area if there are any beekeepers, many of them will remove the hive at no charge to you, or check with your state, I wouldn't attempt removing it myself.
might be a hornets nest.
whatever you do do it when its dark as the hornets are not very active in the dark. The hardware stores sell hornet sprays that can shoot out several feet (about 12 or so feet)so get a couple of cans of that and shoot it towards the nest. Have an escape route planned out. Try that first and see what happens. I have done this a number of times and have been successful.
if on the other hand they are bees then call someone...bees have been having problems lately and we need them so be nice. Probably not bees.
