How do I cool my house down in humid climate?

Question:I'm from a dry desert climate and have now moved to a very, very humid climate with temps in the 80s-90s. I live on the second floor of a house and have found the heat absolutely unbearable. No air conditioning in the house. Any advice on cooling this place down so that I can sleep? Specifically, what should I do to make the humidity bearable?

Answers:
Dehumidifiers work. So do fans. If you can get the humidity down and circulate the air, most of the problem is solved. Using cross ventilation (fans that pull air across the space) work well. Shades that block out direct sunlight are also helpful.

i dont know tell me when you find out!
Fans - ceiling, window and floor.
fans.
put heavy blakents over windows,
air conditoner,
dont put heat on >.< lmao
Wowers, buy a window unit if you can, you can always take it with you if you move again, or sell it. Easy to install and around $150 or so for a small one. Don't need much to cool a room. Pick one room for the AC and hide in there...lol...good luck to you whatever you do, drink plenty of fluids!
