I want to buy several Garter Snakes for pest control around my garden.?

I dont think a snakes will take of the problems you mention. They might keep rodents at bay, but the larger pests will not be deterred by them. I had problems with opposums and racoons and had success with marking the yard with fox urine. I picked it up at a non-toxic pest control store.
That's a good idea and all, but how are you going to keep them around? They are wild animals after all, and they go where the food is. And some snakes are territorial, so you may want to take that into consideration too.
Have you thought of looking at the Organic Gardening website to see what they suggest for pest control. I know it is possible to buy ladybugs which eat aphids likecrazy and also praying mantis. The website will also tellyou about companion planting which is another way to control pests.
We've got snakes and lizards and toads that hang out in our garden - Don't know if the bug control they do is worth the heart failure I have everytime I run into one. Just a thought.
