What can I do with a baby seagull?
Question:Its stuck in my garden and can't fly. The other gulls are just ignoring it. RSPCA say leave it alone but its pissing down and its been there all day. One of the local cats is gonna rag it if its there much longer. I know they're vermin but its pretty cute with its tufty feathers and all so I don't want to hit it with a shovel or owt like that. Any ideas?
Answers:
awhhh this happend to me, but wasnt in my garden was in the Ally over the road and was there or near there for about 2 weeks then a bloody cat got it! There is nothing you can do, Leave it and hopefully it will survive, with a bit of luck!!
Is it crippled?
I once found an injured seagull. I phoned the RSPB (royal Society for Protection of Birds) and they gave me the address of a local vet. I took the bird there and the vet took care of it - treatment paid for by the RSPB.
tell the RSPCA to help it there idiots if they wont isn't that what there meant for!?
its nice to know you care!
if nobody will help it you could try to catch it and put in it your house till the morning other wise the mean cats will get it.
good luck its only little so it will probably be abit scared of you

I would reccomend using garden gloves to pick it up if you have any, and relocate it to a covered area like in a hedge or an open box (on its side, so it can walk out of course) even give it a couple breadcrumbs if you like.
KILL IT i live on the coast of Devon/UK.
teignmouth.
you ask any local person and they will say the same.
here they are considered pests.
i am a animal lover.
but i hate seagulls.
they nick food off our plates when i,m out with my kids.
rip bins a part.
its 2.30am all i can hear is those ******* birds squawking.
dive bomb us.
shiting all over us when we walk down the road.
they are considered a real nuisance here.
if you can,t kill the thing give me you address and i,ll be right around and do it for you.
we should have a day when all the local people should have free rights to kill the things.
even a local counsellor said the same.
the Holiday makers come to our town and say O LOOK AT THEM LOVELY BIRDS and feed them.
next day they attack us and take the food out of our kids hands.
they should be slaughtered.
this maybe not the answer you looking for but i feel strongly on this matter and so does thousands of others in devon.
so we make a mixture of bicarbonate soda and red match heads fed with a piece of bread.
then sit back and watch them pop (great fun).
report me for animal cruelty i don,t care.
the police will probably agree with me.
JUST KILL THE THING that's one flying rat we don,t have to worry about.
i,m sorry if this is,nt the answer you looking for.
but what the hell.
we hate them here.
i have taught my 3 kids to throw stones at them at every opportunity.
sorry but ah **** the flying rats i hate them
AIR GUN
Lovely with a nice cold beer
Untill you find out the local agency that handles this..you can throw about any scrap food to it they have a hearty appetite..the rain will not bother it..they love water.make sure when you feed it that other sea gulls are not around..they see you throwing food and 1 sees..u will have 40 or 50 there within minutes...thye eat meat too mostly in fact
If you can either bring it indoors or put it in your shed and feed it with brown bread or bird seed and some fat balls for pet shop to give it strength. make a little nest for it out of the inside of a cushion. Ring rspca back and tell them they don't know what they are on about. I rang them on Saturday about a dog that's been hanging around outside my house for 2 weeks, it looks badly malnourished but it wont come to me and they said that its not their responsibility!!
