I work 3rd shift , I can not sleep becuase of the sun rays coming from the window. any type of curtain?

Question:That can I use.

Answers:
put blinds or shades on and get curtains with liners. You can also get you an eye mask. It works.

well you can check on dark fabrics that are not sheer.. but the best if you want total darkness is putting aluminum paper on the glasses to cover them. it insulates the room keeping it cooler to.
The thicker and darker the better,if all else fails put card board over your window who cares what the neighbors think?.
I know what meen . I put smaller windows in my house and removed a sliding door In master because of it.. I just sleep there and I know what the woods look like.

I use the roll up blinds (spring loaded type with light block) Get at any Lowe's .
Heavy lined curtains
I made a topper for windows out of wood goes tight to wall on top and covers top curtain rods . Really helped block light up top .
Works for me.

If not enough you can put awning on house if you own it.
You can get a block out window shades. It is the kind that is vinyl and rolls up. You can find them at you home improvement stores in the curtain section. Just look for what is called room darkener or block out on the package. When it is closed it makes the room really dark. You can put them under the window curtains you have. They usually are fitted on the inside of the window frame but you can also put them above the window in the drywall. Take your window measurement with you so you can decided how you want to put them up. That will depend on what size they come in and how much you want to spend. They will even cut them to fit your measurements. They are very easy to install but if your not sure the sales associate will explain how to install them. If your window is really big you can special order the size you need, but you can also use two or three.
Hope this helps. Sweet dreams
cheap and easy and you can do it right now..tape up aluminum foil..may not be the prettiest but it works better than any blind
Use Aluminum foil. It's cheap, works and you can take it down easily. I used it the first year I lived in Alaska (lotza sun in the summer!) and voila! sleep, sleep, sleep.
