Can I trim the roots on my peace lily?

Question:My plant's leaves are turning yellow. I don't want to keep re-potting it, because frankly, I don't have room for an enormous planter. So, can I just trim the roots?

Answers:
Yes, it should be trimmed at least every 3 years or more if it's a fast grower. Where I volunteer they have a 500 lb one and a lot of little ones in bulk plant plantings and the big one is a pain!
