I keep getting bitten?

Question:I have noticed that in my house when the weather starts to warm up I keep getting bitten, I have had this problem since I moved in nearly 2 years ago, I am very particular about cleaning my house and keeping everywhere clean so I thought maybe it was beause the tenants before me had an animal and possibly it was fleas so I have used a steam cleaner and done the whole house on quite a few occasions but it is still happening.

Does anyone have any ideas what it is and how I can resolve this problem please

Answers:
try asking the council they will sort it out for you
it seems like fleas which can live and breed for some time after removal of pets little buggers

sounds like midge bites from outside, not inside the house. happens to me in warm weather. never feel or see them just the pink spots that itch. not as virulent as mozzies in spain thank goodness
Tell your landlord because they should have the place fumigated for you. Obviously something is very wrong. You should not have to suffer.
I would guess that it is still fleas. This is the worst year we have had. The yard is full of them even after treating. This is where the problem is. You bring new ones in when you enter the house.
Have you tried spraying your rooms with insect repellent? You can buy them from various hardware stores, you could also try burning a Citronella ring, (this also is available from hardware stores). Good luck!
Get a large spray bottle of Ortho Home Defense. Spray on the house outside foundation of your house. Also spray along the woodwork inside the house. If all else fails, you might have to bug bomb the place. This should kill any type of evasive, pesky bug that is snacking on you. It could be a number of things.as simple as a stray mosquito that has found it's way into your home and snacks at night.
Could be ants the queens fly into your house in the warm weather and lay their eggs and die. Why don't you ask your neighbour if the tenant before you ever mentioned being bitten. If it's fleas then they are attracted to anything white try putting an old white sheet on your couch and see what happens. If you are a council tenant the environmental health will charge you for treatment because they do not belong to the council .I know the charge is £36
Hope you will find a solution.

Up here in sunny scotland we are particularly lucky to have swarms of midges in the summer months, I have used Avon Skin-so-Soft moisturing oil and it works a treat, available from local reps or on line(I think?) good luck getting rid of the bites I know from experience they take ages to dissappear.
you shoad get a gardnan
I am listening to all of your answers because I have the same problem. I have asked neighbors and the owners before did not have an animal. I know what a flea looks like and if you are getting bitten by them you can sometimes see them especially if you are wearing white like white socks. The problem with me Is that I have not seen anything. I was worried that it could be bed bugs but they only seem to bother me in the summer and I too am a very clean person. I am anxious to hear all of the answers right now I have 17 bites all over my body and I can hardly get any sleep. Oh yeah I seem to be getting bitten in my house??? and I have already fumigated and it has not helped.
Fleas can live for 60 days without food or water longer on human flesh. Try something you would put on yourself that might deteer whatever it is, like something you may have, vinegar, boraxo powder, soda or even talc before spending alot of money.
Do you possibly have any kind of leaks under your house? They may be contributing to mosquito's. they are a big problem. We have the same kind of thing happening but we do have a under the house small leak. try spraying for mosquito's this will help. Watch and see!
You don't tell us the bite size, it's important.

Very small bites - vampire midges.

Medium bites - Rats.

Large bites - Sadistic Husband.
Have you tried to use a bug bomb?
I have had cats for years and if I get an infestation, this is what I use. They work very well. Read the directions carefully and use the correct number of units for you apartment/ house.
If this is a flea infestation, then the fleas could be in your upholstery / bedding / draperies. Bombs get everywhere, in every crack and crevice.
Plus they kill many different types of bug.
where are you bitten? Is it on your legs? If so then it could be fleas, or sand fleas depending on where you live. If it's all over you then perhaps it's bedbugs. If only in spots and occasionally then it could be spiders or red ants. Maybe your home is on a hive of red ants. First try fogging your place with Raid foggers. If it's still happening then take your problem to an exterminator (pest control). Maybe they can tell if it's carpenter ants or termites or whatever else it might be and find where it's coming from and they could spray around the house as well.
Even though you clean your carpets. Fleas can still survive. They have a 7-day incubation period. Once they lay their eggs they will hatch in 7 days, then, they will lay eggs. You can kill them all but you can't kill the eggs. So by the time the insecticide has worn off here come another batch. When spraying for fleas, you have to reapply every seven days for about 21-28 days. They could be outside as well so you'll need to treat the outdoors as well...--Good Luck!
are you in a newish house and do your neighbours have pets if so they are comming through the wall joints my daughter has this problem a spray of insecticide round the whole house and then keep spraying the area round where the wall/ floor meet on a regular basis
First thing, I would check to see if your roomate is sleeping all day in a box and is very active at night. : ) It does sound like residual fleas. We use Raid foggers in our rental property and they are vey effective. You didn't mention if you had a pet. If so, be sure they are treated as well. good luck
