u did not specify what kind of bugs or what type of garden ( flower , vegetable etc ) there are a lot of chemical free things u can use , check out some of the books on line for u r type of garden . like planting marigolds will keep rabbits out , ashes from a wood burner will feed u r flowers and keeps certain bugs off tomato plants , good luck
