Color and Insects?
I have noticed by experiments that spiders do not like an indigo blue. I placed a small square of gels in each window and have less spiders ever since.

Mosquitoes are repelled by citronella oil. It could be that a lime color, corresponding with citronella, may discourage mosquitos. It's worth a try.

There are also mosquito repelling plants for indoors!
