How do I apply as homeless?
Question:My son (4) & I are being made homeless (by a parent) I need to know how I go about applying as homeless. We live in East London (Walthamstow)

You local authority should have a homeless persons unit. The local authority switchboard should be able to give you contact details.

Local Social Services Office will advise. The Local Authority always used to have a responsibility for the care of Mums and little ones made unintentionally homeless; don't know if this has changed. The key word is "unintentionally" - so if you have provoked someone into kicking you out, your case is weakened.
The other people who can help are Citizen's Advice Bureau - find your local office in the phone book or BT.com

usually your local council, or shelter can help, trouble is usually you cant do anything about it until you are homeless, then they can put you up in b and b until alternative accomodation can be found for you, good luck
