Do gnats live in bananas?

Question:I have no gnats in my house until I buy bananas, do the gnats live in the bananas?

Answers:
No not really, but fruit flies lay eggs on all types of fruit then they hatch when you buy them and take them home. Those tiny little flies buzzing around your house are fruit flies. Trust me, they will die off.

no, those arent gnats, theyre fruit flys,if you keep your fruit in an open bowl and on the counter you will get those little flys ,what you should do is put all your fruits in a large covered plastic bowl and everytime you take a fruit recover the bowl. you see, fruit flysare attracted to the sweet aroma of the fruit.i know, this happens to us.i hope ive solved your problem.
Yes...wash your bananas when you bring them home under running water. Then dry with a paper towel.
