water only once a week, and not too much. orchids are very delicate and can easily be overwatered. place in a spot where the lighting is good, indirect lighting, NOT direct. and about every 6 months you will need to change the soil. good luck!

I'm not sure but I only water most of my plants from the bottom. African violets, especially. Also, keeping them in a window that faces South is good for them. Hope this helps...good luck
