Fruit flys!!?
Question:does anyone know a good way of getting rid(getting them to stay away)of fruit flys? for the past few weeks there always seems to be loads in my house i dont want to have to keep my windows closed all the time,theres never old fruit in the house the kids eat to quick for that!and the bin is changed every other day but they always seem to be around the bin and fruit bowl

The problem with fruitflies is that there is no answer that I know of. They come to your home onthe fruit, hatch quickly, reproduce, etc. Try washing your fruit thoroughly ASAP after purchase. It's a real drag because I think a bowl of fresh fruit is so pretty and appetizing but not with a bunch of flies hovering around! Yuck!! I'm anxious to see if this gets resoved! Good Luck!
You will need to get a garbage can that seals and keep the fruit in a sealed container or in the fridge. It doesn't take any time at all for fruit flies to find fruit and come into the house, so even changing it every other day isn't going to help.
ugh those are SO pesky! i wish i had answers but i have the same problem! ill let you know if i find a good solution, good luck.
