Collard greens-turnips, etc.?

Question:I'm new to the area and was wondering what months are good for growing greens? I see them in the neighbors gardens, but my husband insist it's to late to start them now.Is there only one growing season, or is there two? If so when will be the next planting season? thank you for your replies.

Answers:
I'm a country girl, born and bred.
They do better in spring and fall but
I've planted them any time of year.
The only problem planting them in summer
is that bugs eat them up. But you can put
Sevin Dust on them up until a few days before
picking to eat. I love them and always kept some growing.

good for you liking your greens...so healthy and growing your own is very satisfying
growing seasons vary but being early june, he's prolly right,
there are really good seasoned greens to be had in a can, we had some last night...they may suffice til next year...buyin them fresh may get pricey due to the late frost...enjoy!
Where are you at? Read the seed pack and it will tell you the zone and time to plant..Months I do believe.
