Which is better with insulated cooler bags, ice or refreezable blue packs?

Hi, depending on the brand of insulated soft cooler you are using, you might want to use the refreezable blue packs. Some brands of soft coolers do not have heat sealed liners which means they can leak if regular ice is put in them and they melt. A good rule of thumb is to gently pull on the liner where it meets and see if you see stitching. If you can see the thread used to sew the liner, it will leak. If you pull and see an almost molded (melted) meeting of the liner, then it's probably heat sealed and won't leak if you place regular ice in the bag. Regular ice cools faster than the refreezable blue packs, but the packs are easier to take care of and generally won't leak! Good luck!
I wouldn't use either, but instead recycled plastic soda bottles (not the big ones, but individual serving sized) cleaned and frozen with water in them. That way you can have cold drinking water too!
