How can I stop kids from playing ding dong ditch on my house?

I did this: stayed at the window in the dark and waited for them to arrive; when they were in front of my door (and hadn't seen me yet) I told them in a loud voice: PLAY NOW IF YOU'RE ABLE TO (...ok, something like that, because I'm italian and these same words, in italian speech, have stronger effect). They scared and they stopped playing ding dong on my house at night. Good luck!

I wouldnt scare them - theyd think thats funny and encourage friends to do it for the same reaction. You can disable your doorbell for a short time eventually theyll stop when they get no reaction. Theres many other thing syou can do to sabotage them but I imagine that would only result in more reatliation such as tping and eggs and the like. Make it boring and theyll quit it.
