For UK residents using water meters with only two people in your home?

Question:What is the average amount of cubic metres you use per month? This shuld be the reading provided by your meter.

We just had a meter installed 3 months ago and the usage seems far greater than I expected. I suspect we have an underground leak...

My thanks in advance.

Answers:
Just ask the water company to check the meter for leaks ,there should be no charge for the service .

we use 300 cu mts every 6 months, depends if you bath or shower.
£30 to £35 pounds a month if that helps.
We have just had a water meter installed,my husband say's we have to share the shower and forget the washing up,he's got a container load of paper plates and we will only eat ready cooked food. He's now installing an earth closet toilet but we are having trouble with the weight of the soil on the joists.
have you tried turning off your internal stopcock usually under sink or in downstairs toilet and then checking to see if the water meter is still turning if it is you have a leak between meter and house
Our bill just received. 59cubic metres £157.94 this price includes VAT. This bill covers: 3 Nov 2006 - 10 May 2007.
