Why is my room so hot?
Question:my room is aways how during the summerr, even at night. hell last night i damn near blacked out it was so hot in here. the strange things is, yesterday was fairly cool and last night was cold.
no matter what my room is always super hot, even if i put a fan in here.
my house is in a small valled at the beginning of the oregon desert. my room, my brothers room and the living room all face the rising sun. in theory all 3 rooms should be hot but only mine is. the house has poor insulation so i hear every thing. out side my window is a giant maple tree so my room does not get hit by the sun that much. yet is always too hot!
i go to my brothers room which is hit by the sun more than mine and his room is fairly cool.
any ideas>?

There could be many reasons... Is your room on the second floor? If so, is it above the garage or is there a room below it that is open to the outside? Is your window properly insulated? Is the a/c vent open in your room? It could also be the insulation in the walls. That would require some extensive work for your parents that would require hiring a contractor to fix it, but it would probably save them money in a/c bills. I suggest putting a big box fan in the doorway of your room at night, and leave all other doors closed, except for one (preferably of a room that stays pretty cool). The flow of the air will suck the cooler air into your room.
If you have an attic or attic crawl space. It sounds like it is not properly insulated. Since your brother's room is cooler, quite possibly he has insulation over his room and you do not. The attic area is acting as it's own little baking oven and you are the muffins.
Because I'm always in it. HAHA
The same thing happens to me because my room is upstairs so all the heat rises. I don't know of any great solutions so I just leave my door open and fan on to keep it from getting hot and stuffy in there.
your vetilation could be bad try closing all but two doors one including yours..leave it half open and put a fan in the hall way try having the first door on the opposit side of the hall.. and also the postion of your bed believe it or not has a lot to do with room temperture.
that one chicks a dumbass ... aimee or whatever.
go to your nearest walmart or equievelent, and buy a bunch of indoor thermometers. place one in every room, and basement if you have one.
After a day or two, with a peice of paper in hand, log the tempretures in every part of the house. The hot spots, may indicate that the insulation in your walls, may have setteled.
It may be necessary to blow more insulation into the walls, ware the house is the hottest
