4. Is College Park a nice city?

Answers:
College Park is SCARY! Stone Mountain does have nice neighborhoods check out Water's Edge and Southlands! Honestly, Gwinnett County would be a better move! Snellville, Duluth, Lilburn, parts of Lawrenceville, Buford, Suwanee, are just to name a few!
My friend lives there. she says Acworth is nice. It's about 20 min outside of Atlanta I think.
College Park is not upscale.
If I was you instead of taking others opinion on something so serious, you're on the Internet Google Stone Mountain neighborhoods. You will be able to see pictures of homes and try relocation sites. You have to do your research more when dealing with relocation to a new city and state.
Although it sounds like you might want something outside the perimeter (outside highway 285) you may want to still consider looking intown in Buckhead, Druid Hills, Decatur, Oakhurst, Kirkwood, or Grant Park areas. Many are older neighborhoods that have beautiful old homes and are undergoing (or have already gone through) revitalization-- if you are looking for up-and-coming areas, look around East Atlanta (near the new Edgewood development) or Old Fourth Ward or Edgewood.
